Story

Cecilia, a potion selling witch, tells her best friend and pupil, Miya, that she is going on a trip. She intrusts Miya to do some potion deliveries in her place. Miya takes up the task and goes out into to the world giving potions to those who want them.

Gameplay

Gameplay is split into 2 modes, Overworld Modeand Battle Mode

Overworld Mode is full of exploration and dialog from the various NPCs scattered in the top down world map. Maybe you'll find a chest with a stat boost inside, or maybe you'll encounter someone interested in buying a potion... at that point you'll enter Battle Mode.

In Battle Mode, you must defeat all waves of enemies in 2D platforming bullet hell combat. By doing so, you can sell potions to the NPCs you find. After the battle you'll be brought right back to Overworld Mode so you can keep exploring.

Sell enough potions in Battle Mode to open the Toll Gates in Overworld Mode and progress in the Map.

OFgghfgfh How did I not find out about this sooner!? I'm a massive fan of the Princess Remedy series! Stumbling into a project like this felt validating for my appreciation for such a niche series of titles!

And the game itself? Oh man it was so fun! Such a fun twist on "Healing" people in both presentation and gameplay mechanics! I'd been pondering starting my own Remedy-based project but I never would've considered healing mode being a side-scrolling platformer like Link's Awakening! Having the hearts and money be separate was also a welcome change! And the writing felt on par with the source material as well! I've only completed normal mode but I can totally see myself returning to try the harder difficulties!

A fun time was had, thank you for making this!

A fellow Remedy fan, I never thought id see the day! Im really glad you enjoyed thos game, imo its pretty rough around the edges, but hey that just means if I make a sequel I know what to fix up!!

Btw, tangentially related, but if you like Ittle Dew as well then mayhaps I will one day have a game that appeals to that interest!

Whatever you wind up making next I'm sure it'll be great! It's certainly inspired me to consider tackling a project like this myself, but we'll see if it goes beyond the sketching board haha.

Can i include Miya as npc in my remedy1 project? Its gonna be like 3d recreation of the first game

Ye sure, let me know if you need any reference materials or anything

(1 edit)

okay. maybe few of her dialogue lines?

Well what kind of lines do you need?

can you maybe make it somewhat canon to mpds but something that she can say to remedy

Sure, how about these

"I have a bad case of not understanding the value of products."

"So I should be selling these potions for 2 dollars instead of 1? Okay!"

When i try to delete save file, npcs and chests still work as already activated. Where are save files located?

Assuming youre playing on windows desktop, it should be in appdata>local low>phear ai. I'll look into the bug as I thought I fixed it

The recovery stat doesn't seem to do anything. I think everything is harder than it needs to be for that reason alone.

It lowers the time needed to heal, but yeah I could buff it some

I've never seen any healing happen at all.

Weird... I'll take a look into it

I beat the whole game on normal without recovery, anyhow. 63$, right?

Maybe I'll come back and play this on hard mode, though not if a stat isn't working.

Love this game so much! ^^

Thanks!!

this is all kinds of brilliant , great game !

final boss is too hard for me though , if you could drop down through platforms it would be doable i guess ?

Just so I know for balancing, which mode were you playing on for the final boss? I suppose I might have unknowingly made him a hard fight on all difficulties...

i think i was playing on normal , wasnt aware there was a difficulty selection ?

It was when you start a new save it gives you the difficulty options. But hmm guess I'll have some rebalancing to do if I update the game ever

Why didn't you tell me you were releasing this eh? didn't want your ol pal seein ur shame?

Should just check my twitter more, smh
